Alogi John, an artist from Abeokuta, ogun state, Nigeria, hails from a family with a rich artistic background. His passion for art ignited at a young age, influenced by his sculptor grandfather, known as ALOGI.
Inspired by his uncle, also an artist, Alogi began drawing characters from comic books and posters, nurturing his artistic talent. Alogi’s art reflects his memories, inner emotions, history, and personal experiences. He employs a unique Puzzle technique to convey these aspects on canvas, creating works that emphasize humor. His paintings have been showcased in various group exhibitions in Nigeria, including Life in My City in 2018, and he was honored as one of the 10 finalists in the NEXT OF KIN series in Lagos in 2019, He won USA ArtCloud competition 2023.

Characterized by my personal experience with the tumults of life and sentiment toward events that unfolds around me, painting is a visual portrayal that further bears the story of my life and that of individuals who are familiar and may exist in my immediate space, as represented by my series of Acrylic paintings. As an African creative under a contemporary climate of consistent battle with survival, in addition to so many expectations and pressures that accompany the life of an adult, my paintings depict nonfictional characters with me inclusive, who represent distinct stories of their encounters, struggles, aspirations, with reach for something deeper than the reality that plagues and also keeps them trapped. Through the lens of my intimate experience and the struggle to fix our lives into perfect shapes,

I aim to cheer mankind in their pursuit of dreams and to project a relatable dialogue about life in emotions that resonates with the viewer, from the understanding of shared dreams and incompleteness - a beacon of hope.
