Emmanuel Cyril Ekong is a contemporary Nigerian artist from Akwa Ibom state.His professional journey as an artist began in his art school days in the university where he earned a National Diploma in painting in 2015 and a Higher National Diploma in painting in 2018,both from the prestigious Yaba college of technology in Lagos.He is a figurative painter who skillfully combines elements of abstraction and realism through the use of geometric shapes and patterns,he creates vibrant and colourful fragments of the human form with remarkable mathematical precision.His figures serve as a metaphor allowing him to address his audience on topics such as identity,love,self transformation, human emotions and the world around him.Emmanuel is a deeply passionate artist who believes that art can serve as a therapeutic outlet for those facing medical and mental challenges.He draws his inspiration from renowned artists such as Georgy Kurasov and the Araism movement.
