Jooha’s practice began with poppies, long regarded as symbols of comfort, consolation, and remembrance. Delicate yet resilient, radiant yet fleeting, they continue to guide Jooha’s exploration of the layered emotions that shape our inner lives.

Jooha builds paintings in layers using traditional Korean materials such as hanji paper, ink, and mineral pigments. Each layer holds time, gradually becoming part of the emotions within the work. Through this slow, repetitive process, the paintings quietly come to life.

Like flowers, Jooha’s work reflects the belief that life unfolds in cycles rather than straight lines. Joy and sorrow often exist side by side, shaping who we are over time. Jooha’s paintings translate these emotional rhythms into the visual language of flowers.
