Karina Wolf is a Vienna-based photographer behind the Instagram account minimal.vie.w, where she has been sharing her distinctive perspective on urban spaces for around ten years. Her journey into photography began almost by accident. While spending countless hours walking through the city with her child in a stroller, she started noticing architectural details that might otherwise have gone unseen. One photograph of a staircase became the starting point for what gradually developed into a passion for urban minimalism, architecture, geometry, color and composition. Over the years, photography has become much more than a hobby. It is her way of slowing down, observing and finding something unexpected in ordinary surroundings. Her images often reduce architecture to shapes, lines and bold areas of color, while a small detail or human presence introduces a playful element and sense of scale. Wolf is largely self-taught and works intuitively. Rather than searching for spectacular subjects, she is drawn to overlooked corners, façades, structures and everyday urban scenes. Her work reflects a curiosity for how very little can sometimes say a great deal.
